Surface critical properties of the three-dimensional clock model

چکیده
Surface effects are significant at the bulk critical point due to divergence of correlation length. Recently, a novel extraordinary-log surface behavior was proposed in 3D O($N$) model. Here, authors study properties $q$-state clock model, where ${Z}_{q}$ anisotropy is prototype dangerously irrelevant perturbation. They identify existence an phase between ordinary and extraordinary phases as consequence emergent O(2) symmetry.

Surface critical exponents for a three-dimensional modified spherical model
A modified three-dimensional mean spherical model with a L-layer film geometry under Neumann-Neumann boundary conditions is considered. Two spherical fields are present in the model: a surface one fixes the mean square value of the spins at the boundaries at some ρ > 0, and a bulk one imposes the standard spherical constraint (the mean square value of the spins in the bulk equals one). The surf...
متن کاملSurface critical phenomena in three-dimensional percolation.
Using Monte Carlo methods and finite-size scaling, we investigate surface critical phenomena in the bond-percolation model on the simple-cubic lattice with two open surfaces in one direction. We decompose the whole lattice into percolation clusters and sample the surface and bulk dimensionless ratios Q1 and Qb, defined on the basis of the moments of the cluster-size distribution. These ratios a...

15 صفحه اولA Three- Dimensional Model of the Caspian Sea
Observations of the Caspian Sea during August-September 1995 are used to develop a three-dimensional numerical model to be used in calculating temperature and current. The model has variable grid resolution and horizontal smoothing that filters out small scale vertical motion. Data from the meteorological buoy network on the Caspian Sea are combined with routine observations at first-order syno...
